You could get free birthday stuff in Vancouver by starting your day at Starbucks with a free drink. After you had your morning pick up, make your way to Denny’s for a free build your own Grand Slam Breakfast. If you head over to the Body Shop, you’ll get $10 off. Getting a free burger at Red Robin for lunch is a good value. For an afternoon snack, you can get a free donut at Cartems or Tim Hortons. When you get hungry again, head to Pajo’s for some fish and chips. Since you’re out, head to Papa John’s for a birthday cookie.
As you can see, getting free birthday meals in Vancouver is easy, but you need to be signed up for many newsletters to ensure you get your free birthday coupons. Here’s a list of the best birthday freebies in Vancouver and any conditions to get them. Note that I checked these offers at the start of 2021, but they may have changed since then. I recommend calling the stores before you head out.

The Alley
Bubble tea can easily be stored in your fridge for a few days, so heading to The Alley for a free bubble tea should be part of your birthday week celebration. To get your free gift, you need to have the app / loyalty program. The coupon is valid for five days from the start of your birthday. Note that some users have reported not being able to get the free birthday drink in Vancouver while those in Toronto say it’s still good.
Arby’s
The Arby’s south of Vancouver in Tsawwassenis one of the few locations left in the country. If you’re in the mood for shaved meat sandwiches, sign up for their newsletter so you’ll get something free on your birthday. Unfortunately, the website doesn’t say exactly what you’ll get, but some people have reported getting a free cookie or snack shake with any purchase.
Baskin-Robbins
Baskin-Robbins has a location in North Vancouver where you’ll get a free scoop on your birthday when you sign up for the Club 31 newsletter. You do need to purchase either a 2.5 oz scoop or 3 oz soft serve cone to get your free scoop. Alternatively, you get $5 off a 20+ cake on your birthday.
Boston Pizza
If you want free birthday stuff in Vancouver, make your way to Boston Pizza for free dessert. This is only available when you sign up for MyBP which is their newsletter. To be honest, it might best to just sign up a week before your birthday as you’ll get a free starter coupon as soon as you sign up and a free individual 2 topping pizza on your anniversary.
Cartems Donuts
One of the most popular birthday freebies in Vancouver is Cartems Donuts. This local chain has two locations and gives you a free donut on your birthday. You’ll need to show your ID to prove it’s your birthday, but that shouldn’t be a problem since you’ll be making the rounds for more free stuff.
Chatime
Chatime has multiple locations in the Greater Vancouver area and like many other bubble tea shops, they offer a free birthday drink. To qualify for your drink, you must be a member of Chatime Societea. You must also make at least one purchase in the year leading up to your birthday to get your free drink.
COBS Bread
When you download the COBS app, you become a COBS CLUB member. This will give you access to regular offers. In addition, you’re entitled to a free cinnamon bun on your birthday, but you need to make at least one purchase in the previous year to qualify. COBS has multiple locations throughout the greater Vancouver area
Cora
If you’re going to get breakfast at Cora’s on your birthday, be sure to sign up for their newsletter in advance since you’ll get $5 off your meal as a gift. Note that the birthday offer is not stated clearly on their website, so there’s no guarantee it still exists. That said, Cora loyalty program members do get 3X the points for their birthday meal which is good for 30 days.
David’s Tea
Even though David’s Tea closed all of their locations, they’re still giving you something free on your birthday. Frequent STEEPER members get 5 free points on their birthday. Since you need 100 points to get a free 50g bag of tea, it’s not the best deal, but every point counts.
Denny’s
I would say the best Free birthday meals in Vancouver can be found at Denny’s. When you dine-in, you get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast. This meal includes eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. This offer can’t be combined with any other deals and it can only be used on your actual birthday. You still need to pay the taxes.
DQ
Over at Dairy Queen, I mean DQ, Blizzard Fan Club members get a free Blizzard on their birthday when they purchase a Blizzard. This BOGO offer is good for any size, so you go for the large size if you love ice cream.
Faubourg
Although I can’t verify it myself, readers have reported that French bakery, Faubourg gives you a free coffee or croissant on your birthday. This pâtisserie, and café has locations across the city.

JUGO JUICE

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar

KFC
Since KFC has so many locations, you might as well swing by and claim your free popcorn chicken. You don’t even need to eat it right away as popcorn chicken is easy to reheat later. You need to sign up for the KFC newsletter at least 30 days before your birthday to get the coupon.
Marble Slab Creamery
Marble Slab has a Marble Mail newsletter that gives you exclusive offers. They advertise free sweet surprises on your birthday so you might as well sign up. In the past, it’s been a buy one, get one free offer. You need to sign up at least 48 hours before your birthday to get your deals.
Menchie’s
Anyone who has signed up for the Menchie’s app will get a $5 coupon to celebrate your birthday. Menchie’s is self-serve frozen yogurt, so you need to eat it right away.

Pizza Hut
If you collect Pizza Hut’s Hut Rewards, you’ll get a free offer on your birthday. Over the years, the coupon has changed, but people have reported getting free breadsticks and dessert. No purchase was necessary at the time, which is nice.

You get to choose one of the available gifts which can be anything from lipstick to mascara. Since you get about a month to claim your gift, there’s no need to rush things.
Starbucks
You can’t talk about free birthday stuff in Canada without mentioning Starbucks. Starbucks Rewards members get a free birthday drink or food item. Since you can order just about anything, you should be aiming for something that’s expensive. Food isn’t as valuable as drinks, so stick to a beverage. You do need to sign up for Starbucks Rewards at least seven days in advance to get your drink and the free drink is only good on the day of your birthday. The Tim Hortons Rewards app gives you a birthday coupon where you can claim something between 70 and 100 reward points. This is an okay deal since you have a few different options for redemptions. You need to make at least one transaction in the 12 months prior to your birthday to get the free coupon.
