If you’re looking for the best Mastercard in Canada, you’re going to have plenty of choices. Many Mastercards rank as some of the best travel credit cards and there’s even a prepaid Mastercard that has no foreign transaction fees that will appeal to many people.

When it comes to the best Mastercard in Canada, the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard should be on the top of your list. Although the card has an annual fee of $119, you get a generous welcome bonus of WestJet dollars after your first purchase, an annual companion voucher starting at $119 and the first checked bag free for up to 8 people on the same reservation. If you fly WestJet just once, getting this card is well worth it. If you fly WestJet on a regular basis, then this card is a must.

The Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card is arguably the best Mastercard credit card because you get to choose up to three categories that will earn you 2%. No other credit card out there allows you to choose your categories where you earn extra points/cash back so this is a pretty big deal. The card doesn’t come with many additional benefits compared to some World Elite cards, but this is one of the best credit cards with no annual fee in Canada so there shouldn’t be much to complain about.
PC Financial World Elite Mastercard

If you collect PC Optimum points, then you need to get the PC Financial World Elite Mastercard since it’ll help you earn points at an insane rate. Since it takes 10,000 PC Optimum points to claim $10 in groceries or merchandise, you’re getting a 4.5% return when making purchases at Shoppers Drug Mart. Your grocery return is 3% which is also quite high. Don’t forget that there’s PC Insiders which can help you earn even more points. Even if you don’t meet the minimum income requirement for this card, PC Financial also has the PCF Mastercard and PCF World Mastercard that still earns you a lot of points.
