If you applied for your new passport on May 17th, you should get it well before your travel date.

The earliest you can get it is by 5pm assuming you have all your paperwork ready as soon as the passport office opens.

I didn’t even know that the law changed and weird everyone is fine with this new regulation. Surprised there isn’t more noise or chatter from this. Even the customer service at the airline laughed boisterously when I tried to come back. And they didn’t notify me when I left (I get I should have checked) but was obvious i was oblivious when I was filling an Esta application. Anyhow. Thanks anyway for confirming theres no other way.

As far as I know, there’s no alternative. I do agree it’s insane that you can’t use your other passport to enter especially if you’ve reported your Canadian passport as lost/stolen.

That’s correct. Given the passport was misplaced and having a different valid passport,they won’t allow reentey even with a waiver or visa. Seems like the non cdn passport is not deemed as valid at all. Is there any supposed alternative method to handle this situation. I just find it ludicrous

I believe Canadian dual citizens who are entering Canada by plane need to use their Canadian passport.
