The benefit is tied to your WJ Rewards number, so you should still get it.

Hi Barry, what if I didn’t book directly through Westjet but am flying on a Westjet flight. Is my 1st baggage still free if I paid with my Westjet Elite Mastercard? Thanks.

Nowhere in the terms and conditions does it say the free checked bags are tied to you paying for your flight with your card.

Can you be positive that luggage will be free if I booked with Airmiles.
I called Westjet the guy told me I have to book with the MC to get free luggage, although he couldn’t tell me if he was sure and put me through to someone else, which ofcourse it was a automated site.
Please find out for me, if I have to pay I should do it beforehand to save the extra $10.00 added on at the counter. Thanks.

You get free checked bags just for holding the card. You booking through Air Miles makes no difference.

I booked a flight on Westjet with airmiles. Is baggage fee still free, or do I have to pay since I didn’t book through my Westjet app.
