WestJet has just announced that WestJet Rewards members who have Platinum and Gold status will now get unlimited access to lounges along with up to 5 immediate family members who are travelling on the same itinerary. The previous benefit was just 10 lounge passes without family access so this is quite the improvement. What’s most impressive is that WestJet had already recently made improvements to their rewards program so now members are getting even more!
It’s also worth mentioning that Gold and Platinum tier members still get two annual one-time use guest vouchers so when you’re travelling with friends or colleagues, you can enjoy the lounge with them.
Silver members are also getting a small enhancement in two additional lounge vouchers which can be used for their own use or to invite friends and family. Currently, Silver members get 4 annual lounge vouchers, so now they can have a total of 6.
Although WestJet currently only has 15 airport lounges across Canada, along with lounges
in the U.K. and the Caribbean, they’ve been adding more lounges to their network. More importantly, this is another great benefit for Gold and Platinum tier members. WestJet had already made some improvements to their Rewards program over the last year so it’s cool to see that they’re giving even more benefits to their top tier members.
WestJet has already announced that they’ll continue to expand on the benefits and experiences for all tiers, so I can’t wait to see what else they have in store.
