The difference in rates is significant. Also, I would avoid renting from Hertz a all costs.They added many, many extra fees to my bill ( which was provided to me in German). It took multiple calls over 3 months to have the charges reversed.

Hi Susan,

With so many different routes and rail passes available, you sort of need to compare the two for your specific itinerary. Germany has an excellent train network, so you likely wouldn’t have an issue getting around just by train.
