Aeroplan announced two years ago that you’d only be eligible fot a welcome bonus once per lifetime for the same card tier, regardless of who you got the card from.

You will still get the bonus if you got the premium card (Visa Infinite Privilege), assuming you never held the card before.

I had a CIBC Visa Infinite card that I’d signed up for last year that came with a bunch of Aeroplan points as a sign-up bonus. This year, I signed up for TD’s Visa Infinite card that ALSO came with a bunch of Aeroplan points as a sign-up bonus. However, Aeroplan got in touch with me to let me know I would not be eligible for the new sign-up bonus points as I’d already availed of it via the CIBC Visa Infinite card the year prior. It seems that regardless of whatever (similar) card I sign up for in the future that may have Aeroplan points as a sign-up bonus, I will not be able to avail of them due to the fact that I had received the sign-up bonus points in 2024. Do you know if this is a new thing?
