GreatCanadianRebates.ca has been around for quite some time, but many people still aren’t familiar with the site. To simply put it, Great Canadian Rebates (GCR) allows you to earn cash-back on your online purchases!

This isn’t exactly a new concept, but GCR has the distinction of being 100% Canadian and is designed for Canadian customers. Read my Great Canadian Rebates review now for my full thoughts.

What is GreatCanadianRebates.ca?

Many online stores offer a commission to affiliate websites or any blog that can send them customers making purchases on their stores. I myself use a variety of affiliate programs on my site.

What makes GreatCanadianRebates.ca unique is that instead of keeping the entire commission for themselves, they split it with the customers making those purchases.

In other words, if you like to stretch your hard earned dollars, you should sign-up to GreatCanadianRebates.ca since you’d be earning cash-back that you already planning to purchase online

How does Great Canadian Rebates work?

Let’s say you want to buy something online from Hudson’s Bay, Amazon.ca or Best Buy. Instead of going directly to their website, you would to log into your GCR account first and then click on the link of the online store for which you want to make purchases. Once on the website of your preferred merchant, browse and make your purchases like you would normally do and get rewarded for it.

The cash-back rebate you can earn is an additional benefit and will usually stack on top of any other rebates, coupons, or credit cards points. Check out my guide on the best travel credit cards in Canada if you want to maximize your points.

Which online merchants offer cash-back?

GreatCanadianRebates.ca (referral link) offers cash-back to hundreds of stores including many Canadians and American stores.

This includes Aeropostale, Amazon, Best Buy, booking.com, CruiseDirect, eBay, Expedia, GAP, Groupon, Hertz, Home Depot, hotels.com, hotwire, Hudson’s Bay, Indigo, Joe Fresh, Linen Chest, Macy’s, Nike, RONA, Roots, Sephora, Sports Experts, Staples, The Source, Ticketmaster, and WaySpa.

The amount of cash-back you can earn will vary from store to store. Since there are so many opportunities to cash in, you should always check to see if there are any promotions running.

GCR often has exclusive gift card or cash-back giveaways when signing up for specific credit cards, so be sure to check their current list of credit cards before applying.

How do I get paid from Great Canadian Rebates?

Great Canadian Rebates offers a few different payment options.

  • You can get paid monthly with amazon.ca gift cards if the amount is at least $3.00
  • You can get paid monthly via Paypal if the amount is at least $5.00
  • You can request a check anytime if your balance is greater than $30.00

Note that there is a 55 days waiting period between the moment you make the purchase and the moment you are eligible to be paid. This delay is to keep track of returns and allow time for GCR to be paid from merchants.

Barry is this similar to Ebates? If so, does GCR save us more money or put another way, why should I choose to shop through GCR instead of Ebates?

It’s pretty much the same thing. I’m not sure what the exact payouts are, but it’s likely similar.

GCR will make you wait for months. I have been waiting for more than 10 months for my money and I’ll never use their services again as they have used the same techniques with my friend to delay the payment of his rebates

Hello Barry, do you have an update referral link to the GCR? and they also ask for your email.
