From April 23 – May 23rd, WestJet is offering status match to Gold or Silver with WestJet Rewards. This offer ran late last year and was incredibly popular so it’s great to see that it’s back. Best of all, you can now get silver status by matching your Aeroplan status which is new this time around.

If you have status with Altitude, Aeroplan or VIPorter then you would qualify for WestJet Rewards Gold or Silver benefits until December 31, 2019.

  • To qualify for Gold status, members must have status in: Altitude 35K, 50K, 75K or 100K or VIPorter Priority. Once you have your Gold status, you would need to make a total qualifying spend of $2,900 by December 31, 2019 to retain your status until the end of the next year.
  • To qualify for Silver status, members must have status in: Altitude 25K, Aeroplan Black or Diamond or VIPorter Passport. To retain your Silver status for the next year, you need to make a total qualifying spend of $1,700 by December 31, 2019

If you meet the above criteria, then you need to send the following information to by May 23, 2019:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your 9-digit WestJet Rewards ID. If you’re not already a member you can join now where a member number will be given to you.
  • A photo or scanned copy of your membership card in Altitude, Aeroplan or VIPorter showing your name, current status and valid dates (status must be valid till at least December 31, 2019).

If you qualify, this is a great way to try out WestJet’s Gold status perks which include two free checked bags, six advance seat selections and unlimited access to lounges along with up to 5 immediate family members who are travelling on the same itinerary. Silver status gets you two free checked bags, four advance seat selections and four lounge vouchers.
