I’ve been subjected to the TD Auto club service for a good 5 or more years and speaking specifically about service in recent years – about 2021 to 2024 (now) – it’s trash.

You WILL wait a good 3 or 4 hours for service to arrive. You WILL have issues with their new app/booking website that doesn’t actually track the incoming service vehicle and lies about when it is supposed to arrive. Customer service, as per usual, will be terrible, not communicate with you on issues or delays, never be able to help you, and generally make a less than pleasant experience exponentially worse.

And any attempts you make at avoiding adding to the cost of the experience via the need for Uber trips all over the place to get your car sorted out by strategically scheduling appointments will be properly fucked by the afore mentioned issues. You will waste your time, your day, your money, and your energy in abundance.

It seems less expensive. It isn’t. It seems like comparable service. It isn’t. It seems like it would be no trouble at all. That assumption couldn’t be more wrong.

Fuck TD Auto club.

In reply to Barry Choi. Exactly. Thank you Barry. by ricochet you are absolutely right. I personally will have to use the all-inclusive card waiver on my TD Aeroplan core. By the way the all-inclusive promo now till october end. TD all-inclusive with card waiver equals 8.78% return on your 5000$ deposit. Not a bad stay giving the current economics (and still not locked in if you want to pay the 26$ month fee.) No refer a friend link that I could find online for TD Canada website ... I will ask my branch. Cheers!

In reply to LL_Di. LL, You do indeed need the TD Cashback Visa Infinite card to get a free TD Autoclub membership. That card normally has an annual fee, but if you have a TD all-inclusive account, then the annual fee is waived for a qualifying card (such as the TD cashback Visa Infinite card).

Hi, From you post, I looked for getting TD auto Club through an all-inclusive chequing but I do not see the benefit of TD auto club there if I am mistaking can you please provide more info. as I did not find this TD auto Club to be a benefit of that account.
I aslo called the TD Auto Club all they could say is that TD auto Club is only available through TD Cashback Visa (deluxe free included) or as optional on TD Visa Infinite cards you then need to pay $59. for standard and $79 for deluxe TD auto Club. This information as of Sept. 2022.

TD “Deluxe” auto plan towing service is not as good as you make it out to be. Towing is to the *nearest service center* within 200km. So, you’ll be charged extra (per km) to tow to the mechanic of your choice.

In reply to Barry Choi. You're overlooking the free roadside assistance that may come with your car's warranty. We get 5 years from Hyundai and we've used it. Services provided by the same providers as CAA.

It’s not free then. You have to pay for the credit card annually. Yes, given the first year is free, you still have to pay interest on purchases. And, it states the you have to have a personal annual income of 80 000/yr or 150 000/yr combined income to get this credit card. I’m sorry, but if anyone has incomes that high they are purchasing vehicles with free roadside assistance.
